ARAB PATROL

WE MARCH SO CHILDREN CAN WALK

ORAK HISTORY

Our beginnings can best be told in the words of our first potentate, Illustrious Sir Harry E. Sharrer, who led the effort to organize a new Shrine Temple in Northwest Indiana, that resulted in our being granted a dispensation in 1909, and a charter in 1910.  And, as they say, "the rest is history".

The Arab Patrol was the first unit or Orak Shrine.

We believe that care for the less fortunate, especially children who suffer from burns and crippling diseased, is our institutional calling.  As Shriners, we look beyond ourselves to serve the needs of others.  We believe Shriners Hospitals to be the world's greatest philanthropies, and we covenant with each other to support its' "temples of mercy" with spirit, time, talent and means.
